Luang Prabang is home to a number of cultural delights. Today we visit the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Mai and Wat Xieng Thong, then in the afternoon, we head to the infamous Kuang Si waterfalls for a dip and incredible photo opportunity. Spend the evening at the town’s night market; home to delicious local foods, and plenty of opportunities to test your bartering skills.
Tag 3 — Living Land & Mt. Phousi
For the early risers, you’ll get to watch a long-standing tradition of Sai Bat (morning alms), where the locals offer food to a procession of monks. After breakfast, we make out way to a local rice farm where we’ll learn all about the life of the farmers of Asia’s greatest food staple. In the afternoon we’ll walk up to Mt Phousi’s pagoda for some truly stunning sunset views from the top, before coming back down to enjoy our final night in Luang Prabang.
Today we head south to Vang Vieng in our private transport. Once we’ve arrived, we’ll head out for a scenic drive through the rice fields to one of the area’s iconic blue lagoons, so pack your swimmers! After a refreshing dip, it’s time to check out what the local nightlife of Vang Vieng has in store for us.
The surrounding area of Vang Vieng is dotted with numerous caves. We’ll explore a few of them, stopping to go tubing inside the Tham Nam water cave, before making our way to the Nam Song River where we begin our tubing adventure. Spend the rest of the afternoon floating downstream retracing the original tubing route that put Laos on the backpacker map.
Tag 6 — Explore Vientiane
Enjoy some free time in the morning, before hitting the road once more; this time bound for the country’s capital - Vientiane. Get to know your local surroundings before exploring one of the local beer shops for a night out.
